Santa Cruz County's diverse topography and soil types mean that no two properties are the same.  Seacliff homes may need to drain water back to the street as quickly as possible.  Homes in the flat neighborhoods of Aptos, Santa Cruz or Watsonville can use the slow flowing water to feed a rain garden. Up in the Santa Cruz Mountain towns storm-water management requires more serious drainage plans. Safely taking a storm-water to the bottom of a hill can prevent serious erosion problems. Once the water is at the base of the hill we slow it with rock and gravel  and allow it to slowly disperse over pavement or into a creek system.
